Integrated Search System (MySearch@EPA) and Environmental Project Registration (EPR) System

Absrtact
This project is composed of two systems. The first system is an Integrated Search System (MySearch@EPA). And the second system is an Environmental Project Registration (EPR) System. The Integrated Search System provides a single portal to information searching which allows the staff of the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) to locate information using an Employee-use-only mechanism (Single Sign On) through confirmation of AD Server, and then connecting to the Integrated Search System. The use of a single search interface integrates the following databases and systems together: Official Documents System, EPR Systems, XYZ Internet Disk System, Internal Information of EPA, Electronic Bulletin Board, EPA News, News Clippings, and Scope of the Environmental Protection Administration. The EPR System contains information about every environmental protection project (from signing of contract, project execution, to related information about final stage of case closing such as documents on public bids, proposals for successful contractors, reports on case processes, documents about system development, documents about training, conference data, and final reports at case-closed stage.) There are two objectives for this project. The first objective is providing a single window for searching which strengthens the whole Integrated Search System. This can allow staff of the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA)to find any information they need across many different systems and data bases. The second objective is greatly enhancing the function of searching and indexing on all environmental protection projects. Meanwhile, it will enhance routine maintenance work and service quality; simplify operating procedures, and guarantee improvement of efficiency on every environmental protection project.
